With headliners Weezer and Blink-182, organizers say 35,000 free tickets will be given away to the newly branded Virgin Mobile FreeFest, to be held Aug. 30 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md.
Summer is just around the corner, but Sting has another season on his mind. The singer announced today (June 17) that his next album, "If On a Winter's Night...," will be inspired by his favorite time of year and feature two original compositions as well as traditional songs, carols and lullabies from the British Isles. The album is slated for release October 27 on Deutsche Grammophon.
Mariah Carey will release her twelfth studio album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," August 25 on Island Def Jam, the singer announced today (June 16). The debut single, "Obsessed," is co-written and produced by Carey, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart and has shipped to radio, while a music video directed by Brett Ratner is forthcoming.
Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy Tell'Em and Drake will go on an official tour this summer, and the dates have just been confirmed. The "Young Money Presents: Americas Most Wanted Music Festival" trek will start on July 27 at the Toyota Pavilion at Scranton, Pennsylvania, and will end on August 23 in Dallas, Texas.
