The Hurt Locker and director Kathryn Bigelow have finally won their first major award at the Directors Guild of America Awards held yesterday at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. Bigelow won the award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film over her fellow nominees including: James Cameron for Avatar, Lee Daniels for Precious, Jason Reitman for Up in the Air, & Quentin Taranti
